Let’s say you start a job that is paying well and you want to work there again the next day, but will you get the repeat? Were you taking a nap around the corner, texting on your cell phone, did you arrive to work unprepared, or maybe not giving your full effort? These are some of many factors to why that supervisor probably think twice before checking off the repeat. Let’s change that! Here’s 5 simple ways to earn yourself a repeat on your ticket every day!
Work Hard.
You always want to put in your best effort with everything you do, especially your job. No one wants to hire an employee that simply doesn’t want to put their best foot forward with every step they take on the job. You want to make sure that you work hard so you can build yourself a golden reputation. When supervisors hear your name, you want to be sure they include “hard worker” while describing you. Soon enough, the “big dogs” in the industry are going to start requesting you personally.
Be Punctual.
Being on time is a major aspect of earning yourself a repeat. You want to make sure you eliminate any possibilities of being tardy. Tardiness is associated with sloppiness. Some supervisors aren’t as forgiving as others, and that ten minutes you were late has the potential of sending you home. Leave your house at least five minutes earlier, just a little change can make a big difference.
Be prepared.
Always make sure you go to the job site with the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and any equipment required to get the job done. Almost every jobsite you go to is going to require long pants and work boots. Be sure you have a comfortable pair of work boots and pants without any holes or frays. Results Staffing provides workers with the necessary PPE and equipment, unless stated otherwise.
Integrity.
What are you doing when the boss is not around? If your answer is anything besides working, you’re not showing integrity. Integrity means to be doing the right thing when no one is watching. It’s similar to trusting a child around a jar of cookies, and expect him or her not to eat a cookie. The last thing you want is to be caught doing something you’re not supposed to be doing. You came to work with the intentions of getting the job done, so prove that you’re a serious, reliable hard worker.
Have a Good Attitude.
Having a good attitude is extremely important in any situation. When you’re having a bad day, you need to learn to put it behind you when interacting with others. For example, the clerk at the gas station gave you a hard time right before work. Once you arrive at the job site you’re still bitter about the clerk. A supervisor goes to shake your hand, what do you do? Well you have two options… The first, ignore it and ask where you’re supposed to be. Or the second, you clear your mind of the rude clerk and shake the supervisor’s hand. Now a gesture as small as that has a huge impact on how the other person assumes your personality is like. Always remember to treat others how you expect to be treated.
